Cyprus Housing Market – Conor O’Dwyer Private Dispute Or Something More Sinister?
♫ Monday, January 3rd, 2011Conor O’Dwyer purchased a plot of land in Paralimni five years ago and commissioned the building of a villa on it by local developers Karayiannis. Subsequently finding out that the property wasn’t to have the seclusion he had been promised he attempted to pull out of the contract. The builders went ahead and sold the property to new unsuspecting buyers but failed to release Mr Dwyer from his contract.
Understandably miffed, Mr O’Dwyer took action to recover his property or his money but wasn’t prepared for what was about to happen next.
In a case that has shaken the Cypriot housing market to its core, Mr O’Dwyer was subsequently seriously assaulted. However the police and courts dragged their feet in processing the case which only recently came to court. The defendants were found guilty and Mr O’Dwyer has subsequently gone on to pursue his original case against the builders in the courts
